Scotty has played Darts on the BDO Circuit for the last 2 Years after successful appearances on the 2007 Uk Open Finals and many years of Service to Dorsets County Squad with over 20 Man of the Match Awards.

2009 saw Scotty realise two of his dreams, Firstly being picked to Play for England and Secondly Qualifying for the 2010 Lakeside World Championships.

Dutch Open 2010

Thursday saw the Mens pairs being played. Scott played with fellow Dorset player Paul Carter and found themselves in a very tough group. They progressed through their first couple of games without much pressure, taking a number of legs of 701 in an impressive 17 darts. They then met Steve West and Alan Norris in the board final, and in a very close game succeeded by 3-1 to progress through to the next round and the last 32. In the last 32, they played PDC pair Toon Greebe and Joseph Shenk and won that 3-0. They then played an unknown pair in the last 16 and again won through 3-0.

In the last 8 they faced Yorkshire duo Scotty Waites and Gary Thompson. A tight affair saw the Yorkshire duo go 2-0 up, with Scott and Paul winning the 3rd leg. The 4th leg saw Waites/Thompson sat on double 5 with Scotty visiting the board wanting 151. Scotty hit the 60 and 51 missing tops by a shade. Leaving his opposition with a visit, Gary Thompson duly hit the double 5 with his 3rd dart taking them into the Staged Semi Finals on Sunday.

Friday Morning and onto the singles competition, Scotty eased through the group, Before taking on Yorkshire Captain Gary Thompson in the last 128. Gary was quickly 2-0 up, then Scott levelled at 2-2 and won that important Bull up before taking the fifth leg. Two more matches saw Scott into the last 16. He then lost out 3-0 to Patrick Loos on the Tv boards, who now takes on Ross Montgomery in the last 8.

Scotty Bows out of Lakeside 2010

Scotty Mitchell tried valiently to make it into the second round of the 2010 Lakeside World Championship. After losing the First Set to some terrific finishing from Young Daryl Gurney, with 3 Ton+ Outshots (110,109 and 104), Scotty then lost the second set 3-1 to find himself deep in trouble.

Then set 3, Saw Scotty go 1-0 down and then the comeback started, levelling at 1-1, then levelling again at 2-2 before breaking the throw of the Northern Irishman, to take the 3rd set. Scotty then won the 4th set with 3-1 with legs of 17, 12 and 18darts.

The fifth and final set, which has to be won by 2 clear legs..saw Scotty go into a 2-0 lead with 14 and 15 dart legs (101 outshot), but throwing to win the match in legs 3 and 4 , Scotty was pulled back to 2- 2 and then lost the next 2 legs as well..Losing the Match.

Final Averages : Scott Mitchell 28.61 Daryl Gurney 30.37
